A-Coffee News

Cofee News Logo-2

As many of our seasonal neighbors head north for the summer, we’re reminded that our community is more than just where we live; it’s the people who make it feel like home.

For those staying year-round, this is a great time to stay engaged. Be sure to keep an eye on the community calendar as there will be a number of activities and events happening over the coming months, offering plenty of opportunities to stay involved and connected.

Safe travels to our snowbirds, and we look forward to welcoming you home again soon.

FUN FACT

On this day back in 1924, the first crossword puzzle book was published which is proof that humans have always enjoyed filling in tiny boxes with confidence and then erasing everything.

Please do not leave books or puzzles outside of our front door. While we appreciate donations, the best way to donate is to bring the items to the library during our hours of operation.  Remember, we are in our summer hours from 10:00 A.M. through 12:00 noon. Also, the book drop only handles 1 book or puzzle at a time, so you might be there for a while.

For puzzle lovers, our puzzles now have a room all for themselves. Neat and orderly thanks to our hard-working volunteers. Please help us by taping the boxes when you donate or return the puzzles.  We are now moving our inspirational novels and mysteries to a new hiding place! The inspirational novels will be filed with the rest of the novels, and you guessed it! The inspirational mysteries will be filed with the rest of the mysteries. The pink inspirational stickers will remain on the books. We are working very hard to make our library a place of comfort and welcome. Imagine my surprise! When I learned there are Betmar residents who do not know we have a library much less where it is located. We are looking for ideas to better showcase our library. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I need to hear from you, Toni

Block assignments for Table & Chair volunteers are published in each month’s Betmar Bulletin. Blocks are mapped out on page 34 of the phone book.

The block assignment for the second half of April is Blocks C & D (Betmar Drive and its side streets). Schedule for this period

Fri 4/24 8am Last Dance & Lunch & Learn CH-3

Mon 4/27 8am Bingo & Darts

Laurie ran into one of their longtime friends, stops and

says, “Hey! How’ve you been?”

The friend says,
“Oh, pretty good. Got a new doctor, new glasses, and new hearing aids.”

Laurie smiles and says,
“That’s great! What’s the doctor’s name?”

The friend thinks for a moment and says,
“Well… what’s the name of that flower… with thorns… red… people give it for Valentine’s Day?”

Laurie says,
“You mean a rose?” The friend turns and shouts, Hey ROSE, what’s the name of my doctor?”
