Last week a request came in from Ann Jean asking for donations of boy fabric and folks that sew to make pillowcases for the patients in the hospital where her grandson is. And very quickly our community rallied. So here is to you, everyone who donated material and to all of you who made pillowcases for these kids. Thank you all!
ACTIVITIES
*Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is held every Wednesday in CH3 at 11:30 AM (prompt start).
Punch cards, on sale in the office and they do not expire
• Newcomer Trial: 5 classes for $15
• Regular: 10 classes for $25
Important: A signed Waiver of Liability is required to participate. The office can assist if needed.
*Pictionary Game Night
Our first weekly Pictionary Game Night was a success! So many laughs were had by all. Come join us every Wednesday at 5PM right after Teenie Weenie in the Annex. No cost, just a lot of fun! Come to play or to watch, either way it will be a great time
*Ice Cream Social
Our Ice Cream Social is this Saturday, June 13th in CH2. Tickets are $5 and are on sale before coffee hour and at the Office.
*70s Themed Dance
Don’t forget our 70s Dance coming up on June 20th in CH2 featuring DJ Kim!
Dress in your favorite 70s outfit or come as you are.
Enjoy Door Prizes and Share the Wealth!
Tickets are $5 and are available before coffee hour, at the office, and at the door the night of the dance.
The dance is open to Betmar residents, guests, and non-residents.

*Lunch & Learn with Freedom AC and Freedom Roofing
Starting at 11:30 in CH2 on Tuesday, June 23rd, Freedom AC and Roofing will be talking to us about how to ensure your home is ready for the upcoming heat and storm season. Sign-up sheets are available before coffee and in the Office. Sign-up is required so they can plan for lunch.
*Movie/Bistro
Our first Movie/Bistro night is on June 25th in CH2. We will be watching the comedy, “Last Vegas” and serving Loaded Baked Potatoes! Tickets are $7 with Bistro and on sale before coffee hour and at the Betmar office. For Movie only, it’s just $2 at the door!
Feel free to bring your own comfy chair.
Potato toppings: butter, shredded cheese, onions, black olives, sour cream, and bacon bits!
*Karaoke and Pizza Night
DJ Kim is coming to host Karaoke in CH2 on June 26th from 7-10pm. Doors open at 6:30. There will be Prizes and Share the Wealth and what is certain to be so much fun! Tickets prices: $7 for Pizza & Karaoke or $5 for Karaoke only. Tickets and are on sale before coffee hour and at the Betmar.
*JULY 4TH CELEBRATION
Save the date! You are not going to want to miss this one. We are planning a big one for our 250th! We will have games and contests, lunch and swimming, and even a Dunk Tank. More details to come!
BINGO BISTRO
Next week’s Bingo Bistro is Goulash with bread. They begin serving at 3:00PM!
DANCE
We’re still holding line dance classes every Monday from 10:30 to 12 noon in CH 3. This class is a Beginner through Improver class. Come on and give it a try!
BETMAR TRAVEL
Tampa Bay Rays & Red Sox Game is this Wednesday, June 10th. The bus leaves at 11:00 a.m. outside clubhouse 2.
As a reminder, the stadium is credit card only – no cash accepted.

TEENIE WEENIE
Teenie Weenie runs every Wednesday in June, July, and August at 4:30PM. Come to CH2 and enjoy food, fun, and fellowship. Bring a dish to share and you eat for free (only $4.00 if nothing to share). Hot dogs, both jumbo and regular, are always only $1.00. Tea and water are provided. Just bring a table setting for yourself. See you there!
PAINTING ON THE ROCKS
On Saturday, June 27th, Rhonda Pomerleau will be holding a Painting on the Rocks party! It will be at 6PM in the Annex. There is no charge to attend but keep in mind that we do like to snack if you would like to bring something. Also, if you would like to sip some wine or have a beer, that is welcome.
Rocks, paint, and brushes are provided. Even if you are not an artist, come give it a try! It’s very fun and the company is awesome!

You will cook what I want, clean when I say, and when I come home, I expect a big meal on the table. And guess who is going to dress me and comb my hair tomorrow?”
The wife smiled and said, “The funeral director.”
BIRTHDAYS
Our Mom, Vera Ward, will celebrate 100 Years on June 15th. A bit of history about Vera, and her years in Betmar. Vera and Buell (love of her life, lived on Sandra St from 1972-1996) when Betmar only had 9 holes of Golf (where she learned to play), only the small pool, no golf cart, they walked or bicycled everywhere. The shuffle courts were small, not covered, and open to anyone to use. Saturday night dances were filled with square dancers; Buell and Vera were part of the Betmar Belles & Beaus. They traveled all over the US to square dance and golf with their many Betmar friends. They were very active in both dancing and golfing until 2009 when they stopped both activities they loved due to health issues. They never lost their love of golf and to this day Vera enjoys watching it on TV. Buell passed in 2014, at that time Vera decided to return to Betmar and that brought us to Mary St.

Vera is now living at the Gardens of Westbrooke on Dairy Rd and doing well
